SCS Certification

SCS offers a certification program for Environmentally Preferable Products (EPP) to address the growing demand for products and services that have the least impact on the environment. Program development follows Executive Order 13101, which directs federal agencies and their contractors to identify and purchase products designated as "environmentally preferable."

SCS uses a combination of resources including ISO 14024 Principles and Procedures for Type I Environmental Labeling , EPA's Federal Guidance on Environmentally Preferable Purchasing and ASTM E2129 Data Collection for Sustainability of Building Products to guide the development of its environmentally preferable specifications.

California 01350 Tested - Zero VOC

(CHPS) Indoor Air Quality Test – CA Section 1350, Zero VOC

Timbron Premium Interior Mouldings are third party certified as Zero VOC. VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) are emitted as gasses from certain types of solids and liquids. These gasses react with sunlight and oxides of nitrogen to create ground level ozone, also known as ground level smog. Ground level ozone is harmful to the respiratory tract and often can cause bronchial problems, especially in children and pets. Concentrations of VOC’s are consistently higher indoors, often times ten times grater than VOC levels outdoors. Using a low or Zero VOC product improves overall indoor air quality.
